In July 2022, Low-Carbon Management Committee was Established to oversee the “Dual Carbon” strategy (carbon peaking and neutrality), drive energy conservation, emission reduction, and cost optimization across the group and its supply chain. As a multinational enterprise, we prioritize sustainable practices to align with global climate goals.
Aligned with China’s “Dual Carbon” strategy and the 14th Five-Year Plan’s energy goals, Meide established Meide (Shandong) New Energy Co., Ltd. in February 2022 to accelerate green transformation and high-quality development. Key outcomes include: Photovoltaic Capacity 90 MW, annual power generation 102 million kWh, annual CO2 reduction 95,000 tons, standard coal saved 32,000 tons.
Meide Group has vigorously implemented short-process casting technology, achieving an annual production capacity of 300,000 metric tons while saving over 70,000 tons of standard coal annually. Additionally, through the development of high-strength, lightweight products and continuous innovation, the group further reduces coal consumption by 7,500 tons of standard coal per year.
Meide Group prioritizes the development of garden-style factories. At its Pingyin headquarters, the company has green area for over 1,000 mu (≈164.7 acres) of landscaped spaces across all factory sites, plants approximately 59,000 trees,
invests over ¥13.4 million.
